As a leader, when you focus on the people, your to-do list will take care of itself. Your best value is being with people and ensuring they have direction, focus and support.
Strive to spend at least 20% of your day with your team, your colleagues and your customers. 20% may not sound like a lot however, most managers on the planet spend less than 5% of their day interacting with other people. And… I do not count going to another mindless meeting as ‘being with people.’ What I mean is really connecting with others in a meaningful conversation and finding out as much as you can about them one-on-one
